Kevin Anderson
Kevin Anderson holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Geoscience from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and has more than two decades of experience across Exploration, Development, Production, Unconventional resources, and Technical Capability development at ExxonMobil and its subsidiary XTO Energy. Based in Houston, Texas, he has worked across North America, Africa, Europe, and Asia supporting subsurface evaluation, field development, and reserves governance for a broad portfolio of energy assets.
His current role is Geoscience Capability Advisor/ Lead, where he helps shape the framework for geoscience capability development across ExxonMobil’s global technical community, including updates to technical competencies, role definitions, training strategies, skills development, and career pathways. Prior roles included Geoscience Manager for ExxonMobil/ XTO’s Eastern Business Unit, where he oversaw subsurface strategy across Appalachia, South Texas, and East Texas. Kevin also spent a period of time recently as Global Reserves and Resources Coordinator, coordinating reserves reporting for assets representing more than one-third of ExxonMobil’s global portfolio across projects in Mozambique, Upper Zakum, Yemen, Germany, the North Sea, Vietnam, Romania, Brazil, and the Netherlands.
Earlier in his career, Kevin held technical and leadership roles supporting unconventional and international development programs, including work in the Appalachia and Williston Basins, early development of the Fort Worth Barnett Shale, reservoir characterization and subsurface integration in the Delaware Basin, and international roles supporting projects in Malaysia and Nigeria.
