Bill Rouse

William A. Rouse is a Geologist with the Geology, Energy & Minerals (GEM) Science Center in the United States Geological Survey (USGS). His primary responsibilities include the application of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and petrophysics to the assessment of petroleum resources in Arctic Alaska. William earned his MS in Geosciences at Virginia Tech in 2009 with Ken Eriksson. His research focused on the sequence stratigraphy and architecture of Lower Pennsylvanian coal-bearing strata and their implications for carbon sequestration and enhanced coal-bed methane recovery. In his role on the Advisory Board, William would like to help undergraduate and graduate students identify opportunities for internships and careers in public service.
