Dave Rugh

Dave Rugh, LG, LHG, PG

Dave Rugh received his BS and MS in Geosciences from Virginia Tech. He studied hydrogeology, focusing on preferential recharge pathways in mountain fractured rock aquifers.

After graduate school, he entered the environmental consulting industry where he has been working for more than 20 years. He is focused on executing mining, environmental, and water supply projects which utilize state-of-the-art characterization techniques and best management practices to reduce risk.

He is currently a Principal Hydrogeologist at GSI Environmental in Missoula, Montana. GSI is an environmental engineering and science consulting firm committed to measuring, analyzing, and solving complex environmental problems globally. GSI is an expanding network of 250 environmental professionals with brick-and-mortar offices in California, Colorado, Montana, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Dave joined the Virginia Tech Geosciences Alumni Board to support students who are interested in science and consulting careers.
